This year, as the clocks go back and the nights draw in, Faclan explores Second Sight and the supernatural: The deep, dark hinterland of the spirit known to generations of Gaels, a space and a place outwith and beyond, but also internal and personal. Stories, legends, premonitions, beliefs shared and traded round the hearth. Lights seen far out on the moor at night, the mirror covered during lightning storms, silver in the milk pail, a stranger on the road. In time the electric light shoo-ed away the shadows, knowledge and science shone into the dark corners. But the night cannot be conquered, only held at bay; at the corner of the eye something stirs.
