Niall Campbell

Niall Campbell (b.1984) is from the island of South Uist and one of the rising talents of Scottish poetry. In 2011 he received an Eric Gregory Award from the Society of Authors, and in the same year the Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship.  He originally studied English Literature at Glasgow University and in 2009 he received an MLitt with distinction in Creative Writing from the University of St Andrews. Niall currently lives in Glasgow.  His first pamphlet will be released by Happenstance in early 2012. (Presented in association with The Scottish Island Writers Network)

Niall’s reading at Faclan is his first in Lewis, and is part of the Poet’s Tour – a series of poetry readings made possible by the support of Scotland’s Islands – that aims to promote the wealth of writing in Scotland’s Islands and especially to Island audiences.
